York Storytelling

Here's a plug for kindred spirits in York: read about the storytelling festival on 3 February at

We'll see some of the Yorkists in Headingley next March, hopefully.

  1. Quite by coincidence before I read your notice about 'York Storytelling', and recalling your excellent article regarding 'Elvish',I had just read an article about a lady who tells stories in dialect-a dialact which comes from the area around the North York Moors. In times past plays and poems were written and this dialect used but apparently the words are very difficult to write. Many words are very similar to standard English but when spoken sound, I would guess, like a completely different language.
I look forward to reading your thoughts in 2012 and- hopefully using the correct words- I wish you ' Gajan Kristnaskan' or I just say "a very Happy Christmas."
